A miniature bunting cake topper!

I love the vintage feel of this miniature bunting cake topper. As you can probably tell from my blog header, I have a thing about bunting, but this version takes the cake (er – no pun intended)! Best of all, the cake itself doesn’t need to be fancy – the simpler the better, in fact. I think this would be so beautiful for a wedding, birthday party or baby shower. Rooftop dinner party + Cape Town’s best rooftops

I have a confession to make. Ever since seeing this rooftop dinner party on the top of Jordan Ferney’s San Francisco apartment, I can’t stop fantasizing about a rooftop terrace of my own, just so I can host a dinner party on it. It doesn’t have to be very big, look out on anything spectacular, or even be particularly chic. I just want a little spot where I can lay out my best linen and china, some fresh flowers and candles, and serve a three-course dinner one balmy summer evening, smugly removed from the hustle and bustle below. I don’t ask for much, you see.

Unfortunately, all the places I’ve lived in to date haven’t had rooftop access, or they’ve have those annoying pointy roofs, which aren’t really conducive to nighttime soirées. But I’m not daunted. I know I’ll find my dream rooftop someday…

In the meantime, here’s a round-up of the next-best thing: Cape Town’s chicest rooftop bars, restaurants and swimming pools, perfect for renting out if the need for a private rooftop dinner party proves too strong…
